The recent avalanche of Search Engine Optimzation emails claiming your website contains “meta-data related mistakes” purport to be from Australia. BUT NO. Investigation exposes their origin to be from … take a guess … INDIA.

I have received these emails and my clients have received these emails. LOTS OF THEM !

Let's start with this one

Hello!
I hope things are well.
Firstly, I am not an SEO =) I am a content writer working for an Agency out of Melbourne.
Being a stickler for content I noticed a couple of meta-data related mistakes on your website that I thought I would bring to your attention. It is on one of the inner pages.
I have one of the digital marketers preparing a quick report for you which list the errors. I thought you may find it interesting and probably a core reason why your online visibility is not increasing.

Can I send the report to you or is there someone else I should send it to?

Kind regards,
Lauren Fischer

“I noticed a couple of meta-data related mistakes on your website”

The truth is that anybody who admits “I am not an SEO” would not know much about “meta data” in the first place, and therefore has no qualification and no right whatsoever to suggest there are any errors on your website !

“Can I send the report to you”

I have replied to their email message 3 times requesting they send me this “report” to properly substantiate the alleged meta-data related mistakes. But crickets … no response, no report. I wonder why ?

  • Normally I would recommend that you should never reply to these messages, because that just confirms that they have “a live one”.

Hi,
I’m sure you have been contacted in this matter many times before but our value proposition is much different. We show the client results before we ask for any further commitment. As a business owner you might be interested to gain profit by placing your website among top in search engines.
… usual blurb …

I look forward to hearing from you - thanks!

Google search “pcltechnologyaustralia.com” to discover :

  1. That bogus domain name redirects to the website pcltechnolgy.com
  2. PLC Technology is an SEO company based in Singapore.
  3. The 1800 Telephone Number given redirects to India and has been subject of complaint.

Why don't they have a “.com.au” domain name ?

To register a “.com.au” domain name you need to have an ABN Australian Business Number. The ABN properly authenticates that you are in fact an Australian business. Yet another clue that exposes their attempt to deceive you.

And I will name Hemant Yadav as an SEO Scammer as well

Why do they claim to be based in Melbourne or Sydney, Australia ?

India has been running SEO Search Engine Optimization email scams for many years. 9 out of 10 SEO emails come from India. Those named above are just a few samples. There are STACKS more pouring in from gmail.com, outlook.com and hotmail.com email addresses, the havens for Spammers.

They know damn well that the reputation of INDIA in this area is “down the toilet”. As mentioned in their own messages, many “client's who've been burned before and are very distrustful of SEO”. And rightfully so; it is of their own doing.

Because concerns about honesty arise from the outset, their competence in achieving effective organic Search Engine Optimization results immediately becomes entirely irrelevant. People will refuse to deal with those who exhibit suspicious behaviour, those they do not trust. India just does not seem to get that.

Nice to know that I am not the only person with this opinion. Read this excellent article “How To Spot Scam SEO And Website Service Proposal Emails” by EZ Marketing.

WHAT TO DO ?

Personally, I am fed up with all these SEO emails, Web Design emails and Blog Content Writing nonsense. The number of messages has now grown beyond all reasonable limits that any business can be expected to tolerate.

  • I have developed a method to automatically scan, detect and send all this crap to Junk. If your website is hosted by IT ZAP Website Design Works then this has already been implemented. Others who are interested in this Spam Elimination measure, take a look at my SEO Spam Swatter Global Email Filter.
  • Even better, the SpamExperts Incoming Email Filtering Service automatically detects and quarantines all these Junk messages. The service is not free, but I highly recommend it as your ultimate solution to ridding your Inbox of all Scam emails.

And if you would like some Search Engine Optimization tips, take a look at my article below.

Block Countries

- 03rd October 2017

I wish the IT gurus would develop a system where by you can block emails emanating from entire countries. I know this would have it's own difficulties with VPN's and other masking / privacy methods used etc etc and Gmail, Hotmail etc. I know I am only dreaming and wishful thinking. BUT can you imagine IF there was a facility whereby you could block ALL incoming email from a particular country and how much damage that would do to that countries reputation. i.e. Everybody starts blocking all mail from India and BANG India would be forced to do something about their spam laws etc etc. Same goes with Brazil and Nigeria. I would love to be able to block countries I have no interest in, no contacts, etc etc. They would be forced to up their game about spam and scams.

REPLY by Gary Flack: Charlie, the ultimate solution to all this is SpamExperts, which automatically detects and quarantines all these Junk messages. They never reach my Inbox.

What does it take to tell you we are NOT interested ?

- 31st January 2017

My article clearly says "Personally, I am fed up with all these SEO emails".
BUT NO. India persist sending unwelcome messages regardless, which by definition is Spam.
Rogue Shotgun Marketing attitude at it's very worst.

Scam

- 31st January 2017

AGAIN from scammers info @ searchidea.biz. i received again and again until I decide to comment here.

Hello,
I hope you are well!
My name is Mark and I am a Digital Specialists for a Creative Agency..
I was doing some industry benchmarking for a client of mine when I came across your website.
I noticed a few technical errors which correspond with a drop of website traffic over the last 6-8 months which I thought I would bring to your attention.
After closer inspection it appears your site is lacking in 4 key criteria

1- Website Speed
2- Link Diversity
3- Domain Authority
4- Competition Comparison

I can send you over the report which shows all of the above and so much more which will help you at least improve your site, its rankings and traffic.
I would love the chance to help as well however; this report will at least give you a gauge on the quality of what I do.

Is this the best email to send it to?

Regards,
Mark
