13th December 2017

Watch out for fake EnergyAustralia Electricity Bill phishing emails now being sent from “australianenergysolutions.com”. The message contains a link to a dangerous website that undoubtedly contains Malware or Ransomware.

The bogus domain name “australianenergysolutions.com” resembles the authentic business website address “www.energyaustralia.com.au” and was obviously chosen to deliberately deceive recipients. These days it is critical to be aware of the frequent email scams exactly like this one.

australianenergysolutions.com Domain Name Registration details

The domain name was only registered yesterday Tuesday, 12th December 2017 with the Hong Kong based registrar Eranet International Limited using a Chinese name and address, which I strongly suspect is also fake.

These fingerprints identify the CyberCriminals as exactly the same crew who ran the ATO, ASIC, Traffic Infringement, Origin Energy, Telstra, Reckon and MYOB phishing email scams throughout 2017.

australianenergysolutions.com origin IP address of email server

The only difference on this occasion is that the origin IP address of the email server used is located in Sydney, Australia … not somewhere in Europe.

Report Email Message as Spam to Spam Experts

These scammers must have my email address near top of their list, because I usually receive their Junk messages the very next day after they register a doman. But that is just fine, because I instantly submit their message to “Spam Experts” so as the origin IP and domain name will be duly Blacklisted.

EnergyAustralia customers warned of new bill scam

EnergyAustralia have posted a News message on their website today Wednesday, 13th December 2017 warning customers about these hoax email bills. They also suggest Scam activity can be reported to the ACCC Infocentre using this form.

Yes well, after you have done that, ScamWatch and the ACCC do exactly what ?
